Volunteer Opportunity: Kitchen Tours

This is a volunteer oppurtunity you do not want to miss!!! You will have a blast!
Kitchen Tours Needs Volunteers!
The proceeds from this year's Kitchen Tour will go to the: Schools for Healthy Lifestyles, and Health Alliance for the Uninsured.
The Kitchen Tour will be on October 25th (Sunday). We have 5 homes in the Nichols Hills Area.
The 5 homes are:
1. 1210 Larchmont Lane
2. 1709 Camden Way
3. 6917 Grand Blvd.
4. 1714 Coventry Lane
5. 2431 Grand Circle
We are running 3- 2hr shifts: 11am-1pm, 1-3pm, 3-5pm.
For a couple of hours you will be helping the host give out samples of food by professional chefs in some of Nichols Hills' most beautiful kitchens!
We would appreciate all the help we can get. Please email Aurora Macaraeg auroramac529@yahoo.com if you would like to participate.
If you're not sure or have questions, you can call me at 785.817.9095 and I'd be glad to tell you more about it and share with you when and where I'll be volunteering. I missed out on this my first year because I didn't know if I would know anyone going. Shame on me! Trust me when I say, you don't need to! People (doctor's and resident's wives) are so friendly and will absolutely welcome you in open arms because you are apart of the medical community and you are extremely important to their success as a county Alliance. If it weren't for the med school and resident spouses joining in, they're membership would die out over time. So seriously think about doing this, because it is a really, really neat oppurtunity. The houses are rediculously nice!
Cheers!

ReThread Donations Needed.

This was an email from Ashley Melson about a kids clothing
drive that is needing donations.

Hi friends!
Our church is getting ready for our quarterly "ReThread" kids' clothing drive, so I just wanted to put this out to everyone who might know someone with kids' clothes they won't be using anymore. ReThread is an awesome event where kids in need from the OKC community can come and "shop" for nice clothes in a really fun and welcoming environment.
The space where we meet is set up to resemble a Baby Gap or other fun clothing store with displays and a play area, and each family is given a co-shopper who gets to know them and helps them find what they need. It's a fun twist on the clothing closet idea, and kids get to leave with awesome new-to-them clothes and an experience that makes them feel really special. So, if you have any baby/kids/teen clothes that you are no longer using or know someone who does, this is a great way to donate! At the last store we served over 100 families, and each store is growing. We have also had more and more teenage girls who are looking for clothes, so if you have any of your own clothes to donate that would be awesome too.
Anyway, just wanted to put that out there :) Take care!

Ashley

Here is the information about where the donations are going.

Hello,

We are now about 1 month away from our FallRE:THREADstore and are in desperate need of clothing. Please take time in the next couple of weeks to gather up any gently used children/teen clothing that you might have avaialble to donate. Please also remember to talk to co-workers, friends nieghbors etc. about RE:THREAD. Feel free to forward this email to anyone who you feel might be interested in donating clothing.

It would help us tremendoursly if all donated clothing could be placed inside a tub prior to delivering it. Having it already inside a tub saves us a ton of time and cost. As always, if you don't have clothing to donate this season but would be willing to donate empty tubs, that would be awesome!

At this point I am asking people who have clothing and tub donations to just contact me to make arrangements for picking it up. I can be contacted at rethreadokc@convergenceokc.org or 405-209-7439.

Thanks again for your willingness to serve the families in and around the Plaza District through RE:THREAD! Additional information regarding the Fall store will come soon!

Sincerely,

The Freund Family
